Cologna Veneta - a small town rich in history in Italy

I hope everything is going well, and I'm happy you continue to share your posts about your discoveries here, even when you're out and about, even just for a stroll.

I think there's nothing better on social media than sharing the places that are important to you, places that perhaps many of us don't know about.
Today in particular, I want to show you a small town not far from my home, with about 8,000 inhabitants, called Cologna Veneta.

It's located in the province of Verona, but it's actually a territory nestled between several provinces: Vicenza, Padua, and Verona.
The origins of this place are very ancient. In fact, they date back to the fifth millennium BC. Then came the Romans, as elsewhere in Italy. But since my 496 years, it has been under Venetian rule thanks to its importance for agriculture, especially for the cultivation of hemp.

Strolling through the streets of this town is very interesting because you can immediately notice and spot some architecturally interesting buildings.

Cologna Veneta, now in Italy and worldwide, is famous for its production of mandorlato, a Christmas dessert made with almonds. But as I mentioned, there are still vestiges of its past, such as the Palazzo Pretorio, the Civic Tower, which is a symbol of the town's historic center, and the parish church of San Giovanni Battista, which houses numerous very important works of art.
