Levico Lake - Trento - Italy

I hope that everything is going well and that you are always Discovering new places, but it is nice to see that you always share interesting places in the community both from a naturalistic and historical point of view.

Today, in this short post, I wanted to talk to you about Lake Levico a Lao which is located in the municipality of Levico Terme we are in Trentino and we are in the beautiful Valsugana, and practically This lake is located at about 400 meters above sea level, so it is truly an ideal place even for days of water because however it gains altitude it is quite comfortable and the water I must say is always quite cold So it is not really suitable for everyone to bathe in this lake, let's say it is a bit inadvisable for those who are sensitive to the cold.

It is not that long, we are less than 3 km away and it is about a kilometer wide. But its depth can reach even more than 40 meters in some places. So as I was saying, it is not really suitable for everyone. You also need to know how to swim a little in some places, because as you know, the lake waters are not like sea waters, it is much more difficult to swim in these places.

What do you like about this place and why do I recommend it? Especially if you are nature lovers, it is the shape of the lake itself, where it is nestled. In fact, it is surrounded by woods and this makes it a bit like a Norwegian fjord in Italy, even if it is very risky to make this comparison, but it makes the water not turquoise blue but tending more towards the emerald color and for me this is a beautiful thing.

Another beautiful thing about this place is the fact that all around the lake there is the possibility of taking a beautiful and panoramic walk, a way to admire the lake even more, but also keeping fit.

Even in some areas there are reed beds that are breeding areas for aquatic birds and so maybe if you are also passionate about fauna you can observe these species of birds that live here.

Of course the lake is very popular for those who do water sports, which honestly I don't do because I'm always afraid of drowning, for example many people come here to swim, sail, windsurf, canoe and kayak, windsurfing is very popular because there is a lot of wind here so it is an ideal place.

Of course for several years it has become a blue flag so it means that the waters are very clean and are suitable for swimming, this is not a given because unfortunately it happens that certain areas even in Italy are polluted.
To reach the lake I recommend you take the Brenner motorway, exit at Trento Nord and continue on the Valsugana state road 47 to Levico Terme, there is the possibility of reaching this place also by train because fortunately it is connected to the railway and the Levico Terme railway station is practically about 2 km from the lake while the journey from Trento to Levico Terme lasts about 40 minutes and costs about €3, there are also bus connections from Trento but I could not tell you the price, I reached this location by car because in my opinion it is the most convenient way even if the parking is quite expensive.
