Hello friends, I'm writing again today to introduce you to another beautiful place that I think is worth a visit, overlooking the beautiful Lake Garda: Torri del Benaco Castle in the province of Verona.

This castle, overlooking the eastern shore of Lake Garda, was built in 1383 on an earlier structure dating back to the 10th century by Antonio Della Scala precisely because he wanted to control this part of the lake, which also had an important port used for trade.
Let's say that around the 16th century, this castle lost its former military use and became more used for civilian agriculture. In fact, if you visit this place, you'll notice a beautiful lemon house built around 1760. Unfortunately, after this beautiful period, the castle fell into a state of total abandonment. It was restored around the 1980s and practically opened to the public.

The castle is open to the public from April to October, except for Mondays, almost every day. Anyway, I'll leave you the official website below, where you can find other useful information for your possible visit.

The castle entrance fee is about €5 per person. Occasionally, they also organize guided tours, which cost a little more but, thanks to the excellent guides, you'll certainly gain further, very interesting cultural knowledge. Inside, besides admiring the castle, there's also an ethnographic museum and the historic lemon house I mentioned earlier. So, in my opinion, it's a good price for this cultural excursion.

CuriositiesThe name "Torri" comes from the castle’s three towers. Its lemon house is one of the few still active and accessible on Lake Garda.

This structure gave the town its name, the Torri del Benaco, and we could say it's the most important symbol and monument of this place. That's why I think it's very interesting to visit.

What a detailed and informative post! I love how you explained the history of the castle. the lemon house and the museum. It sounds like a perfect cultural visit and the €5 entrance fee seems very reasonable for such an experience. Thanks for sharing
