Accessibility

This resort is easily accessible by various means of transportation.

•	Road

If you're already in Akwa ibom state, then you can easily access this resort, accessing this resort is super easy due to the wide and good road networks which connects, a broad four way lane which makes it easy for a fleet of cars to patrol, a clean environment which makes it enjoyable and also there's no case of a traffic jam.

Your accessibility by road will be so fast and enjoyable, you won't experience any form of potholes or bad roads on your way.

•	Air

The Ibom Air Airport is easily accessible, and it has resumed international flights. You can access this resort by booking your flight to the state, then taking a 40-minute to 1-hour drive to the resort. From the Airport, you have a good road network to the resort and a wonderful scenic view of the environment.

There's good news, on reaching the airport you can choose to use a Chopper/Helicopter from the airport down to the resort without having to use the roads

The Helipad is nested in the resort and could comfortably contain two choppers. From the Helipad, you could easily order a cab from the hotel, which will pick you up quickly, or you can walk down and enjoy the scenic view.

Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort was established in 2007 under the governance of His Excellency Obong Victor Atah, who was inspired by global golfing areas and how interesting the game was, he decided to bring it back to his hometown. Le méridien partnered with this project, and it was known as Le méridien hotels then, which was changed to Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort.

In the inaugural ceremony, the state hosted professional golfers and icons like Nancy Lopez, Retief Goosen, and others who made the event a success.

Since then, the Name Ibom hotel Golf and resort has been heard globally, it won The Best leisure Hotel at the Nigeria Travel Awards

•	Scenery and landscape

This is one of the best parts of touring the resort. While I was touring the golf course, I met a young man who came to give a lecture to some Maritime students. He was lodged in this classic hotel. He called my attention, and he asked, "Where is Marina?"?. I turned to his tour guide as we took a stroll through the wonderful park.

He kept on saying "wow" and "Africa is so blessed", due to the scenic view. He said he is happy to finally see the ibom gold and resort he has been seeing in magazines and posts on social media, that's when I realized it is really a global tourist center with a good scenic spot

_Marina
As we approached Marina from the walkways, and we saw other tourists and golfers playing the game. He kept on hammering on the marina while we were walking. He said he was told that it crosses over to Cameron, which is another country entirely. This river here flows down to the border river with the Cross River, then to the ocean, to see how long the river is.

Best viewing point? Everywhere is the best spot to view. From your entrance, you could hold back from looking in amazement. I had to hold my phone handy as I walked in through the gate. You have the golf course, which is mind-blowing; you will have a smile on your face while taking a photograph; and you have the Marina, which holds lots of history.

•	Wildlife

It is blessed with a lot of flowers and wildlife. I was shocked when this tour friend of mine told me more about the wildlias fe, he had read more about it. Since it is nested in a tropical palm forest, there is wildlife in the tropical area. The resort is guarded by steel fences that protect it from any wild animals.

It is not a zoo, so we won't be expecting any animals in cages. I saw squirrels running up and down in trees, lizards racing up trees, and butterflies dancing in the wind. I saw different birds, one looked like an eagle, but I couldn't tell because I didn't have a close look and my camera can't zoom with great quality.

I was able to take several pictures of flowers and trees in the resort.

Golfing

_Golfing
As the main activity in the resort, which covers over 100 hectares, it has 31 golf holes. In 2023, I, my brother's and siblings toured the golf course, we were chanced to walk to with the golfers, we covered the whole golf lawn, we were told that we just covered 9km, I was so shocked to know we covered such a long distance, but it looked all cool because we had to rest at points.

Badminton

The badminton court which is at the extreme of the hotel, sits close to the marina. Badminton lovers come here to have a remarkable day by playing the game. I would love to try out this game.

Sightseeing

This marina gives tourists a clear view of the water body and also the palm forest. I saw boats and fishermen doing their work in the boat. I saw machines far away in the river, which looked like oil drilling was taking place. My tour friend told me they're drilling the same for building use. I was now able to see the heap of sand on the shore. Timber can also be seen here, which is taken from the Tropical forest across the river.

This Ibom Hotel has a beautiful reception where you can relax and make your room booking, flight bookings, food order, and also buy things. They have comfy chairs where you can sit while waiting.

While resting, I was able to watch a football match and enjoy the comfy chairs with a good ventilation system.

For elderly or disabled persons it is quite easy to make use of the Hotel and rest areas, as you can use the elevator to the rooms you choose or simply book a room below.

Both seasons have their special touring taste. The dry season has a hot and bright atmosphere, which is the best time to take photographs of the golf areas. Also, make sure you wear something light because of the hot weather.

The rainy season, which we are currently in, is the best time to capture the palm forest, and it is also good for some photo shoots. With the bright environment, you can still get quality pictures.

•	Tickets and Entry Rules

The entry to theeee resort is totally free, you're not to pay a dime. If you want to pay a tour guide who will walk down with you, explaining some of the things, then you will have to pay 3k which is equivalent to 15steems. If you choose to tour alone then it is free.

safety Guidelines

• Keep clear of declare any weapon while visiting the resort.

• While walking in the walkway be vigilant for any crossing golfs.

• Don't walk in the golf course, this is very critical because a golf can cause serious injury if it hits a sensitive point.

• Stay clear of deep bushes as there could be dangerous/venomous snakes

• Observe the areas away from paths, there might be a pond

•	Personal Experience

I had a very wonderful experienceerienceerience, I went there with my siblings and I also met a tour friend. The last time I went I was not able to tour to the marina but this time was awesome, I walked through every corner of the golf lawn and to the Hotels to feel what a fellow tourist will feel when they visit.

I never knew that this Tourist center had a lot of History, while looking at the marina, I saw a slave boat structure which I went it. The symbolic boat holds a lot of History of people who were sold to slavery, I never knew slaves were moved through this River to other states then country.

I also saw a stone structure where the slaves were remembered, their names were listed with their hometown. I was glad to know such history still exists, and I learnt a lot about that place, that is the joy of tourism. "you see a lot and you learn a lot"

Tips for visitors

• If you want to visit during the festive season make sure you book early due to the influx that comes in.

• Try Afang soup, a local delicacy and Thank me later

• If you're touring alone then watch our for flying Golf.

• Don't walk on the golf lawn, use the walkways.
