The Fairyland Fallen to the Earth | Guangxi's "Shenben Na" + "Water Tour in the Sky"
Speaking solely in terms of natural landscapes, Guangxi must be the most beautiful place in China. Everyone only knows that Guilin's scenery tops those of the world, but actually, Guangxi is full of places like Guilin. (I only discovered this on my way to Guilin by self-driving.) The destination I'm going to share today is Hechi, Guangxi. Those who often read my travel shares know that I'm a blogger who loves traveling and is also "stingy". Although the tickets, food, drinks and accommodation for this trip are very cheap, the transportation cost became a major expense due to the inconvenient itinerary.
Transportation:
Except for self-driving, it is recommended to fly to Nanning first and then transfer to buses, high-speed trains or rent a car. (Renting a car in Nanning for four days costs 2,000 yuan.) (Excluding Guizhou and Chongqing, as there are direct high-speed trains and flights to Hechi.) (For specific transportation information, you can send a private message or leave a comment.)
Tips:
- The water of Sanmenhai Lake looks peacock blue to the naked eye, but it turns emerald green in an instant when shone by a tour guide's flashlight. No filter is used at all.
- The best time is before May. The water will be muddy after the rainy season arrives, so it is necessary to pay attention in advance.
🌟 Day 1 | Jiudun Tianchuang | The Glass River Wonder of the "Underwater Mount Everest"
📍 Ticket Price: Free (Parking fee: 10 yuan)
🚗 Transportation: 2.5 hours by self-driving from Nanning / About 200 - 400 yuan by chartering a car
💡 Must-Experience:
1️⃣ Rent a paddle board (30 yuan/hour) and paddle through the sea of "water buttercups" (Hai Cai Hua).
2️⃣ The shooting location of "Aerial China" and a must-visit place for diving enthusiasts - the Tianchuang Group, known as the "China's Underwater Mount Everest".
🍜 Hidden Eating Method: Roast river fish (25 yuan per fish) sold by villagers, served with mint leaves. It's extremely wild!
📸 Photo Spots: The viewing corridor downstream of the Tianchuang. Every photo taken casually will be an Instagram-worthy masterpiece.
🌟 Day 2 | Longjiang Diyi Wan | The "U-shaped Bay" with an Illusion of Northern Xinjiang
📍 Ticket Price: 10 yuan for mountain climbing + 50 yuan for a boat tour
💡 Little-Known Fact: This was the filming location of "The Journey of Flower".
🍜 Special Dish: Sour meat from Liujia Town (30 yuan per jin), served with bamboo tube rice. It's sour, spicy and appetizing!
📸 Photo Spots: The 836 border marker check-in point, with the beautiful reflection of the China-Vietnam border.
🌟 Afternoon | Mulujia Xiaosanxia | The Karst Wonderland of the "Little Guilin in the South"
📍 Ticket Price: 80 yuan (including the boat ticket)
🚗 Transportation: 10 minutes by self-driving
💡 Hidden Fun: Take a bamboo raft to challenge the 460-meter cliff plank road (additional fees required).
🍜 Special Dish: Zhuang ethnic group's five-colored glutinous rice (20 yuan per serving), served with tofu balls. It's an intangible cultural heritage food!
📸 Photo Spots: The wonder of "a high gorge creating a flat lake" in Tiandamen Gorge. The aerial photography perspective is amazing.
🌟 Day 3 | Sanmenhai | The Blue Hole Wonder of the "Underground World"
📍 Ticket Price: 98 yuan (including the boat ticket)
💡 Little-Known Fact: "One of the seven wonders of the world", a fairyland recommended by Fang Qi. There are doors on the sea and seas in the mountains.
🍜 Special Dish: Yao ethnic group's long table banquet (150 yuan per person), including bamboo tube chicken and oil tea.
📸 Photo Spots: Shoot the magical light and shadow of "seas in the mountains" when taking a boat through the Tianchuang.
📌 Highlights of the Itinerary:
✅ Four world-class landscapes are connected, and the ticket price only accounts for 218 yuan!
✅ The sea cabbage flowers are in full bloom from March to May, and the mountains are covered with red leaves from November to December. It's enjoyable all year round.
✅ It's so off the beaten path that even locals may get lost. When I asked for directions near Jiudun Tianchuang, an auntie said she didn't know. Then I showed her a photo, and she said, "Oh, the place for washing clothes. It's just ahead."

Ah ok. They're sharing content from lots of different trip.com authors so I strongly suspect it's all plagiarised.
