Details of how to get to Jamboree Park

This park is situated in Agarabad, Chattogram, so we have to go to Chattogram. You can go to Chittagong from anywhere in Bangladesh by bus, train, private car or plane. You can take a CNG or Agrabad bus from anywhere in Chittagong city to the park. I went there by taking a CNG from Alankarmore in Chittagong. My CNG cost was 150 BDT or 8.6 Steem or 1.1 USD. This is the cost to reach there. For return the cost is same.

Entry Fee and Timings

There is no entry fee to enter this park. - People can enter here from 5:30 am to 10 am. Then it closes. Again, this park is open to everyone from 3:30 pm to 8 pm. It is most crowded after 4 pm and on holidays (Friday and Saturday). I visited here on a Friday afternoon, so the park was very crowded.

Lets Explore The Jamboree Park

One of The Entrance

There was no ticket required for entry, so we entered the park directly through a gate. There are several gates to enter here. Of these, four are two each on the north and south sides. There are two gates on the east and west sides. There are a total of six gates to enter this park. I entered here through a gate on the north side. Before I describe this park, I want to say that the day I went to the park, it was very crowded, so I could not take good photographs. You can understand by looking at my pictures that there was a lot of crowd here. Three types of people crowded here

Different types of Visitors

  • Some people came for physical activity, especially those with diabetic problems, and they came to walk. Middle-aged people were in this category.
  • There were also a lot of children in this park. Since it was a holiday, children came to the park to play and since the roads here are very wide, they were also having a lot of fun.
  • The people of the third category were crowded in this park; they were couples and friend groups. It was clear from their activities that they had come to the park to relax on the weekend. People in this category were celebrating their time through video and photography captures.

1000110544.jpgUnknown plants

As soon as we enter through the gate, we see trees all around. The authorities have planted about 65 species of plants here. I have seen some of the trees for the first time in my life and I do not know their names. About 10,000 trees have been planted here. Among them are many flowering plants. Although I could not take pictures of all the flowers, I took pictures of many flowers and took pictures of unfamiliar trees.

Lake view from different angles

The main thing that this park has been focused on is the artificial lake and walking system. There is about 8000 feet of walking system here. Again, there is a fountain system in the lake. Currently, the fountains are limited. The depth of this lake is 3 feet.

What I Eat

1000110559.jpg

Garbage bean

One of the management systems of this park is to restrict the entry of any food stall or mobile food (nuts, chocolate, chips) vendor inside it, but if you want, you can buy nuts from outside and enter here and enjoy them. However, try to throw your food waste in the garbage bin. To keep the environment of the park clean, garbage bins have been placed at a short distance. Here I entered with nuts. The price of them is given below.

Beautiful Walking lane

The dry leaves of the trees were scattered along the walking path, which made me feel good. I quite like this scene in winter.

Park rules

1000110551.jpg

Rules

After entering the park, there are some rules mentioned on a big board next to the gate (on the south side). The rules are written in Bengali, so I am writing them in English.

  • It is prohibited to throw garbage anywhere in the park, use the garbage bin if necessary.
  • This park is under CCTV cameras everywhere and at all times.
  • It is prohibited to touch or sit on the electrical wires and installations installed in the park.
  • It is prohibited to bathe and throw garbage in the lake water.
  • Adults should refrain from playing sports in the park.
  • Smoking or consuming drugs is prohibited here.
  • Do not damage any plants or flowers here.
  • Skating and cycling are prohibited here.
  • Be careful when using the park.

After exiting the park, I saw many toy vendors at the gate. They were selling various toys including balloons, guns, cars, and balls.
