Chilekotha Restaurant, a new restaurant in the Bhatiary area, is entirely made of bamboo and boasts several unique features that set it apart from other restaurants. They offer many excellent facilities for customers to enjoy and ensuring that you won't feel bored for a moment.

It's located next to the Sea Gold filling Station in the Bhatiary area of Chittagong. The best part is that you can enjoy their services 24 hours a day, every day of the week. Being right beside the highway, it's easily accessible from anywhere.

The restaurant is completely open-air. However, during rainy seasons, it's covered with white fabric like a tent, to ensure comfortable dining. It was raining the day I visited. As soon as you step inside, you'll feel like you've entered a bamboo house.

Every structure of this restaurant is made from bamboo, cane and wood. I didn't notice any special interior decorations but an open-air, ground-level restaurant like this is rare, especially in this area. Perhaps they designed it this way to offer customers a different experience, which I found attractive and eco-friendly.

There's ample seating for customers. A unique feature was the very low height of the wooden tables. This means the chairs you sit on aren't very high off the ground, a type of sofa we usually see in our homes.

It's not that all seating is low-height. Only those designed for four or more people are like that. There are also regular-height two-person tables and chairs. The chairs have a soft foam layer, making them quite comfortable to sit on.

Many things about this restaurant are unique, even their menu. Unlike other restaurants, they don't have printed or card menus. Their menu items are written with chalk on a large board. You can see the board clearly from any seat in the restaurant, with all items and prices written in chalk. I found this quite unique.

Here is the price of their menu and the food I ordered:

Chiken Chap10.86 STEEM1.46 USD
Hariyali Kabab10.25 STEEM1.38 USD
Nachos9.65 STEEM1.29 USD
Reshmi Kabab9.04 STEEM1.21 USD
Lacchi4.85 STEEM0.65 USD
Mint Lemon3.03 STEEM0.40 USD

When you order food, you can see the entire process, from taking your order to how the food is prepared, right in front of you. Means their kitchen is right next to where customers sit. And the kitchen itself is beautiful, made of bamboo and straw. Their chefs and all staff members wear t-shirts with their logo.

I initially thought of ordering something light but I had eaten elsewhere that day, I wasn't very hungry. However, I decided I had to try at least one of their items, so I opted for a drink instead of a fried item.

When I visited, only two drinks were available. I prefer mint lemon, so I ordered that. The drink was prepared and served to me within five minutes of ordering, which was quite impressive.

There's nothing particularly special to say about the drink. It was just like any other mint lemon. However, I must commend their packaging. My drink was served in a beautiful container that looked quite premium with their restaurant's logo printed on it.

To ensure customers don't get bored while waiting for their food, they've provided entertainment facilities. At the very back, there's a wooden swing, which was also unique and not like other swings. It was sturdy and made of wood. Two people can easily enjoy the swing together.

Most people now look for selfie spots and the restaurant has made good use of that. There's a beautiful selfie spot. It's shaped like a house front with the middle section empty, so you stand behind it and when photographed from the opposite side, it looks like you're inside a house.

I didn't get to try Chilekotha Restaurant's recipes, apart from the mint lemon but I found the overall ambiance unique and pleasant. This well-decorated place made of bamboo, cane and wood is truly wonderful.

If you want to spend a long time in a home-style setting, It could be one of the best places. "Chilekotha" is a Bengali word meaning "machaa" (a raised platform or attic). At this restaurant, you'll get a taste of that machaa experience.

Their sincere behavior towards customers and the comfortable, peaceful environment are sure to satisfy customers. So, to enjoy a local taste, come to Chilekotha today.
