Today I will write about the biggest railway station in our country, and I will pin this railway station on the Steam Atlas map. I hope everyone likes my blog, so let's share my blog without delay.
The name of the biggest railway station in Bangladesh is "Kamalapur Railway Station". It is located in a place called Kamalapur in the Motijheel police station of Dhaka capital. This railway station was built in 1968 during the Pakistani period.
There is a system to go to different districts or cities from the railway station, train is one of the vehicles for comfortable travel at the right time. This station is the biggest, and from here everyone in the city goes to the rural areas. Dhaka, being the capital of Bangladesh, people from all districts come here for jobs and business, and for ease of travel, they come and go by train, which gets up and down from this station.
There is a canopy inside the station, which is 39 feet above the floor. However, the canopy is in the shape of a dome, there are 49 columns and 36 domes made of concrete, under which there are ticket counters and various fast food shops.
Kamalapur Police Station
There is a security system for the administration of the Railway Police, which is run by Kamalapur Police Station. In this police station, the accused are arrested from the railway station and kept in Prison. In addition, there is a mosque, a hospital, and an internal container depot where goods are brought from outside through containers.
Public Toilet
There is a public toilet system where such a big station where almost thousands of people come to this station every day, so having a public toilet there is more convenient for everyone, but if you want to use the public toilet, you have to pay a separate fee.
Platform
There are 11 platforms in the station from where trains from different districts of Bangladesh depart, and everyone can travel easily, but this railway station is owned by Bangladesh Railway. Each platform has a number, and a microphone clearly tells you which platform the train from which district will depart from.
Ticket Counter
There are also many computer counters for buying tickets, where everyone stands in line and buys tickets at a low price because of the good transportation system. Tickets can also be purchased online, but the price of the ticket is the same.
Porter
Since it is a big station, there are different porters to carry the goods of different people, and they wear different red dresses and carry the goods inside the station, for which they have to pay a separate fee. Having that system inside the station makes it easier for many to travel.
freight Train
This station not only operates for travel but also for freight trains. Along with passenger trains, freight trains can also be seen, where various types of goods are brought in freight trains.
Mechanical Place
Inside, a small room is seen, which is a mechanical room, where if a train breaks down or has any problem, it is kept in this room and fixed. There are different types of equipment to fix the train. In addition, some freight and passenger trains are kept on separate lines for fixing.
Food Shop
Inside, there are all kinds of facilities, starting from food, and everything is available there. There are various food shops where fast food shops are seen as snacks, and the prices of the products are kept a little higher than outside.
In front of the station, there is a VIP entrance where VIPs enter through this gate. Since it is not open to everyone, the gate is always closed. However, this gate is opened when VIPs come.
Sun Terrace
In front of the station, there is a sun terrace, which is made of concrete; it was built as a witness to the genocide in the war in 1971. This station is a witness to the genocide that the West Pakistanis were committing on the people of our country at that time.
Cross over Bridge
Kamalapur Railway Station is one of the busiest railway stations; it is an important terminal for communication from the capital, Dhaka, to different regions. The total area of this station is about 156 acres, so there is a large traffic bridge that people can easily cross over the bridge.
Big Road (People play sports)
The station is open every day of the week and 24 hours. There is a separate car parking facility, and there is no need to pay any money for it. Since there is a big road inside, rickshaws can enter it between small vehicles. And since there is a big road, many people play sports there.
Ticket checker
There is a platform in the suburb where there is a local train going to Dhaka - Narayanganj, and there is a place to sit or rest on the platform. The ticket checker is checking the tickets there; everyone can understand this because the checkers wear a different white dress.
