🏵️Ahsan Manzil Museum Dhaka, Bangladesh🏵️

Brief History

Ahsan Manzil is a historical structure located on the banks of the Buriganga River in Old Dhaka. It was originally the residence and administrative center of the Nawab family of Dhaka. In 1872, it was named "Ahsan Manzil" after Nawab Ahsanullah, son of Nawab Abdul Gani. During the British period, it was the center of political, social and cultural activities in Dhaka. Many important meetings were held here. Later, the Bangladesh government acquired it and opened it to the public after renovation. Currently, Ahsan Manzil is a branch museum under the Bangladesh National Museum and one of the historical monuments of Dhaka.

Ownership and Management

The work of its conservation and renovation began in 1989. It was officially inaugurated as a museum in 1992. Now its care, maintenance and exhibition management are completely under the control of the Bangladesh National Museum. The ownership is now the government, and the management is done by the Bangladesh National Museum.

Exterior and Entrance

The architectural style of Ahsan Manzil can be called Indo-Saracenic or Indo-European mixture. It has the influence of Mughal architecture on one side, and European (especially colonial) trends on the other. Modern exhibition rooms, electrical systems, lighting and security systems have been added inside to be used as a museum.

The main entrance for visitors has been made from the north side. Security checks are done at the time of entry, bags are checked. As soon as you enter, you can see an open courtyard, green lawns and flower gardens in front. The design is like climbing stairs towards the historical building, which is consistent with the old nobility.

	ticket counter

To enter here, everyone has to collect tickets. Collect tickets. Submit that ticket at the gate and then enter inside. No one can enter without a ticket. The ticket prices are in different levels. We also collect tickets from there and enter inside with the tickets. The ticket counter is attached to the gate. Visitors can see the ticket counter as soon as they go in front of the gate.

Exterior

The exterior of Ahsan Manzil is very beautiful. It is difficult to find such a natural environment inside the city of Dhaka. The exterior environment has been beautifully recreated there. Various ancient architects are still intact. And a few workers have been appointed to maintain them. They constantly maintain them very beautifully.

Interior Environment

The interior of Ahsan Manzil was very beautiful. In every place here, the items used by the ancient Nawabs have been beautifully preserved. In a word, everything they used has been beautifully preserved here through glass.

There are historical artifacts, works of art, cultural items. Many rare items of that time have been preserved here. They are shown below.

Accessibility

Since it is a museum, there were no facilities like accommodation. However, the facilities here were very nice. There were a few places to sit down where visitors could sit and rest. There were also special concessions for the disabled. There is adequate water supply. If anyone faces any kind of difficulty, there is a solution for it. Everyone here is very sincere. They do not misbehave with any visitor which I liked very much.

Tickets and Communication

To enter here, they have to follow some rules. For example, no food can be brought in from outside, because it is seen that they eat food from outside and throw it inside and make garbage. Due to which the beauty of Ahsan Manzil is ruined. Also, instructions are given on each side to enter here. And to enter here, the first thing to do is to buy a ticket. No visitor can enter here without a ticket. There are different prices for tickets. If visitors want, they can also collect Ahsan Manzil tickets online.

Additional notes

The use of technology here was very nice. Especially, almost every room had adequate fan facilities. So that the visitors do not suffer. Also, some rooms were seen with AC. When VIPs from any country come, they are used. And CCTV cameras were installed in the entire area to ensure that no one can do any kind of damage. To be honest, it is a beautiful and safe area, which wins the hearts of visitors.
