Nearly every one of us lost a beloved pet at some point in our lives, hopefully after it lived a long life, though it can happen unexpectedly (the worst). It never gets any easier.
I find myself looking at my 16-year-and-five-month-old cocker spaniel as I read your post and getting teary eyed.
