If you want thought provoking material, Anime is a goldmine. Steins;Gate, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Ghost in the Shell, Psycho-Pass, Shin Sekai Yori ....... It's a long list. Since you love Serial Experiments, I highly recommend Evangelion, Boogiepop Phantom, Paprika, Perfect Blue.

Thanks for reading it dude! Yes im a big fan of anime, watched the above which you mentioned, recent was shin sekai yori. Im glad you mentioned about it cuz its the most under rated and deep philosophical one
NGE is awesomme, paprika n perfect are damn good. I still need to watch Boogiepop phantom.
and you can reply to this, if you recently found any good animes

Youjo Senki, Texhnolyze, Harmony, Empire of Corpses,Ergo Proxy.
These are not very philosophical but has some of the best atmosphere and immersion I've ever witnessed: Shiki, Another, Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni (If I reveal what genre this anime is,that would be a major spoiler. Go blind and finish the first season. Don't look it up anywhere)

Also Try Cronenberg's Cosmopolis. It's my favorite of his movies.
Also try One Punch Man and Fate/Zero and Unlimited Blade works(Season 1 isn't very good but the rest makes up. Last bits are almost euphoric.)

You totally missed Sense8 from the creators of Matrix. It takes 3 episodes to get good but after that it's freaking amazing. And it's also a perfect example of LGBTQ done right(normally I either cringe or puke when most other TV/Movies do them)
My Top live action shows are:
#1 Sherlock (BBC)
#2 Black Mirror
#3 Sense8

Honestly i was not expecting someone would read this post. So kept the list short ones.I really liked the Sense8 concept, it was totally entertaining.

You might also like David Cronenberg's eXistenZ and Videodrome.
After first few minutes of Videodrome I was checking the Wikipedia to make sure it was made in 1983. Honestly, it was ahead of time even if it was made in 2003.

Yeah mate i have those on my watchlist but kept postponing thinking those are old, since you commented about it, will make sure to watch it tonight!

And dude since you're new to this site, if you need any help then you ask me here or on the steemit chat @vishal09

If you want something more modern, try Psycho-Pass or steins;gate. You might really want to wait about 8 episodes for steins;gate to really go all out.
For live action try Shin Godzilla, Confession of Murder(Korean), Natural Born Killers, Snowpiercer(Korean) and seriously Ender's Game.

I'm still thanking my friend who recommended Ender's Game cause I simply dismissed it as some young adult adaptation movie flop. Boy I was wrong! It did feel only an inch away from being a flawless masterpiece and then I learnt a small but important plot point in the book that was left out of the movie which would have made it perfect.

Here is something from Wikipedia: Marine Corps University's Lejeune program opines that it offers "lessons in training methodology, leadership, and ethics as well [....] Ender's Game has been a stalwart item on the Marine Corps Reading List since its inception.

Thank you @smug-chan ^_^ Good to see another anime fan, followed you
