"Sitting in a Dirty Living Room" Writers Block Poetry Contest Week 2 Entry

Looking down, I see a beer belly full of regret,
As hairy as it is large.
The sound of carrots crunching beside me,
By a toddler attached to my side.
The outdated, neglected living room we occupy smells of hidden, rotting food and pet dander,
Secretly whispering “clean me.”
With every toy that is gathered and placed in its rightful spot,
Two more are placed on the floor.
I have wasted my life,
A life well wasted.
