Any idea why they've been removing features recently?
Not entirely - I think view count was first to go. Not sure about no payout - maybe they want to discourage burning SBD/STEEM. It may be possible to set no payout with one of the browser extensions. This post looks like it was made in steemit (but 3 days ago) - payouts declined: https://busy.org/@steemitblog/steemit-blockchain-team-update-appbase-rocksdb-bandwidth-hf20-smts-and-more
