The Russians took control over Kherson in the south. Mariupol is being encircled and bombarded. It would link up the Russian Crimean forces with the Donbas forces and effectively cut off the Ukrainian military from the Azov Sea.

In the northeast, the attacks on Kharkiv continue as that city is under siege. Chernihiv and Sumy also are encircled.

Around Kyiv, Ukrainian forces have managed to attack the large approaching convoy, which has been slowed by logistics problems.
