India's space ambitions
Sometimes I feel that I wish I would have studied astronomy and worked in ISRO, I am always so fascinated about the science of the Universe, knowing about the planets, galaxies, celestial bodies, stars, dark matter, the ever expanding universe and what not. It feels like a fantasy world. We humans have made a big progress in this field and now with the James Webb Space Telescope, we have been able to get views of those parts of the Universe which were always a mystery for us. There have been Earth like planets identified. We may never be able to go there because they are so many light years away, so if ever in future someone goes there, it's only a one way ticket.
I am always wondering 500 years down the line, probably humans would have discovered an Earth like life planet, which would support all life systems and it would be in our decent reach. Imagine, now we are shuttling between continents, and then we will be shuttling between planets. My mind can gallop on these fantasies. But I believe it is possible. There must be surely some planet out there which supports life. The life there may be very different for sure.
With the International space station we are moving in a good direction of deep space missions. India has also announced that it is going to launch it's first module of it's own Space station by 2028 and fully establish it by 2035. India has had good achievements in the Space Industry in past, so this is also going to be one more feather in the cap. Also there is going to be one more goal, where India plans to have it's first indigenous human space flight launch in the next 2 to 3 years.
The 2 pioneers of the Indian Space Industry Dr. Abdul Kalam and Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, both of them had a vision to take India to new heights in this industry. Dr. Sarabhai founded ISRO and Dr. Kalam took it to new heights. I am a big fan of Late Dr. Kalam, he was just not known for his achievements in the space industry but also for the human that he was. He came from a very humble background, rose to heights and yet remained so humble all his life. He went on to becoming the president of India, and gave a lesson to almost every Indian that no matter where you come from, if you have conviction you can achieve anything you want.
May be in my next life I will come with a connection to the space industry and explore the vast universe and it's hidden mysteries.
