I just loved this post- every tiny bit of it, every word of it. You are so right about the way children learn things. When they do become inspired to do something, they just start doing it and if we let children play and explore things, they learn things beautifully for sure.
Yes, as parents we have the biological need to prepare them for stuff, but if we just don't go over the board with this need, I think we'll help our kids become independent and have their own individuality which is just so important for their well-being and I am sure this is exactly how you are raising your kids which is commendable.
Thank you so much, Sharoon! It means a lot to me to have support. I believe so strongly in children's rights. I'm hoping to help more parents learn how to get out of their children's way. I am doing my best with my kids, though it's not always easy. It's very easy to assume we know best.
