Pamukkale travertines are a visual feast formed by thermal waters in the Büyük Menderes basin with a series of earthquakes 400 thousand years ago. Located in Denizli, Pamukkale is renowned for its snow white travertines that millions of people visit each year. The terraces of this natural masterpiece, which has been a hot spring for 1000 years, consist of carbonate minerals precipitated from the hot spring water. At the same time one of the 29 places in the world that has entered the UNESCO World Heritage List with both its natural and cultural characteristics.
