The Senator knew the sale was a problem and raised the alarm balls. How shocking that it was ignored by the Obama/Clinton White House. I'm sure it was just an oversight.
and what kind of follow up from the senator?
he knew and did nothing?

I'm not sure if there was a followup or a reply from the WH, and I'm not sure what the Senator could do other than alert Obama of the realities of the situation. But they all knew how fishy this all was, it's amazing it's just coming out now. I find it interesting the DOJ is kind of glossing it over, hopefully Trump cracks the whip and forces them to take a look.
