On the occasion of the 41st Teachers' Day, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the People's Republic of China, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, wrote back to representatives of special-post teachers nationwide, expressing his earnest hopes and extending holiday greetings and sincere wishes to teachers and educators nationwide.

In his letter, Xi Jinping noted that over the past 20 years since the implementation of the "Special Post Program," the vast majority of special-post teachers have actively devoted themselves to rural education, rooted themselves in the classroom, dedicated themselves to their work, and demonstrated the passion and responsibility of the people's teachers.

Xi Jinping emphasized that teachers are the foundation of education. Li Qiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council, issued instructions on ensuring the work of special-post teachers, noting that General Secretary Xi Jinping's letter to representatives of special-post teachers nationwide fully demonstrates the Party Central Committee's concern and attention to the teaching workforce. Teachers and educators should adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, vigorously promote the spirit of educators, fully implement the fundamental task of cultivating morality and educating people, and go to where the motherland and the people need them most to teach and educate, contributing even more to building a strong nation through education.

The Special Post Program for Rural Compulsory Education Teachers (hereinafter referred to as the "Special Post Program") is funded by special funds from the central government and is used to publicly recruit university graduates to teach in rural schools in central and western China. Since its implementation in 2006, the "Special Post Program" has recruited a total of 1.18 million special post teachers, covering over 30,000 rural schools in 22 provinces and over 1,000 counties. Recently, eight representatives of national special post teachers, recipients of honors such as the "Most Beautiful Teacher" award, wrote a letter to General Secretary Xi Jinping, reporting on their work and experiences on the front lines of rural education and expressing their determination to remain true to their original aspiration and mission and to remain rooted in rural areas to teach and educate.
