You should keep it consistent the logotype, you used capitalized on horizontal but small letters on vertical.

I wouldn't tell you were fully successful on your design concept because what I see is just a simple guitar logo, I don't see any "key note" or "musical note" in it. I'm just glad that project owner enjoyed the improvement.
