Bandaranaike is the only traditional dentist in the village of Maldeniya. He is a very skilled doctor, about 70 years old. Everyone called him "Bandara Veda". Not only the people of Maldeniya village, but also the people of two neighboring villages come to get medicine from Bandara Veda. One day, Somadasa of Mindeniya village was suffering from an unbearable toothache and his family took him to Bandara Dentist.

Somadasa was an old man of about 75 years of age. Therefore, the toothache was so severe that he could not bear it. Also, Somadasa had never had such a toothache before. Because he had a very healthy set of teeth. Since childhood, Somadasa had taken great care of his teeth. Therefore, he had not had any dental disease for a long time. Mr. Bandara Veda also examined Somadasa's teeth and said that his teeth were healthy. Mr. Veda told Somadasa's family that the cause of the sudden toothache was a nerve problem.

"This nerve problem must be treated today. Otherwise, the pain will worsen". Bandara Veda looked at Somadasa and said. But Somadasa did not like it. He had not resorted to such treatment before, so he was afraid of it. Somadasa was afraid to seek treatment.

There is nothing else to do. This treatment must be done even against Somadasa's will. Otherwise, since he is old, this could even be a threat to his life, so Somadasa's family gave permission to the doctor to treat him.

Since Somadasa had to undergo this treatment against his will, the family members had to hold him until the doctor finished the treatment. Although it was somewhat distressing for him, the family members had to hold him tightly, thinking about Somadasa's life. But Somadasa did not want to remain in discomfort for long. Bandaranaike Veda quickly treated him. His pain disappeared. Somadasa felt his usual lightness again.
