SLC27-W3 // Mr. Momo-wala at Palli Bidyut Food Courts.

Bangladesh is a land of foodie. We like food so much that, in many cases, we use the term 'gourmand'. We feel proud if someone mentions us as gourmand. This is our culture and tradition.

Welcome to the Third Week of Steemit Challenge, Season 27. This week, our mentors, @dasudi & @lirvik, suggested that we discuss our traditional fast food. In my article, I separate this into two parts. One, about the place. Two, regarding traditional fast food and answering the given question.

Front Look of Mr. Momo-wala

Name

Mr. Momo-wala, is the name of the fast-food shop I'm going to talk about. It would be better if I were to say that, Mr. Momo-wala shop is a shop of a large fast-food circle of a place name, Eidgah Maath. A place only for our two major religious festivals, Eid-Ul-Fitr and Eid-Ul-Adha prayers are performed. All other 363 days of the year, this place would be empty. Then, some entrepreneurs and inventors noticed that and made it a fast-food Festival place for the remaining days. So, here, every day of the year, a festival happens.

Momo's

Payment

This is not a restaurant or fast-food shop. It’s a place. Every mini shop is owned by different individuals. The maximum payment system is by Cash. Some shop owners offer Mobile banking. Mr. Momo-wala offers only cash payment.

Shop Owner

Environment & Others

The environment of this place is warm, crowded. In the evening, the crowd gets bigger and bigger. This is not a place where you can spend some time silently. People, people everywhere. But, the good thing is, the service is very fast. As I said, it’s a very crowded place. If the service comes late, it will be very messy. Food tastes good. The price is very cheap. It’s near a popular local market. People who come to shop with their family, must spend some time here. As I said earlier, we love food.

What is the most representative fast food dish of your city or country?

The most representative fast food in our country is undoubtedly, Phuchka. Ask any woman in this country, and the answer will be the same. Shingara is probably the second most popular fast food in our country. Both of them are iconic and traditional fast-food in our country. Part of our culture.

What is the best time of day for you to enjoy fast food in your area (breakfast, lunch, evening)?

Usually, the best time to enjoy fast food is in the evening. Here, in our country, most le visit these shops in the evening. This is the middle time of lunch and dinner. People become free this time after their jobs and get time to spend with their family.

A Ready Momo Plate

Do you think fast food stands benefit your country's economy?

One answer, NO. There is no connection with countries economy with these fast-food shops. It sounds weird and funny. But, it’s true. Let me explain, these shop owners, no matter whether they own a big restaurant or a small roadside shop, don't pay tax. No one here to check how much they earn from this. It’s just recycling of cash, but, as a country, we have not benefited from this.

Yes, some people, personally, gain a lot of money from this. If this process is a part of our national economy, then, I can say, provably. Some people have earning opportunities. This is how much we have benefited from this type of business.

You can try. Phuchka is a bit spicy. I don’t know why girls & women like this obsess over it.

Agreed. It helps people to have a job or gives opportunity to make some money.
