Ya nos encontramos en el mes de junio, y parece que ayer nos estábamos dando el abrazo del año nuevo. Me sorprende ver todas las ediciones que llevamos de este concurso de "Arte y Escritura"; y lo que más me agrada de todo es que cada día se suman más usuarios a compartir sus talentos escriturarios, a partir de obras realizadas por excelentes artistas plásticos.

Para esta edición 147, les traigo como invitado al francés con orígenes italiano, Jean-François Raffaëlli:

Este distinguido artista nació el 20 de abril de 1850 en París (Francia). Fue un artista autodidacta, incluso en el año 1870 debutó en el Salón de París con algunas de sus obras, que fueron bien acogidas por los críticos de arte. Luego, en el año 1871, recibió asesoría de arte de parte del maestro Jean-Léon Gérome durante tres meses.

Raffaëlli no solo era pintor, también se dedicaba a la escultura y al grabado. Sus obras eran realistas, pues en ellas se reflejaba la vida de los campesinos, de las amas de casa y de la clase obrera que vivía en las afueras de París.

Perteneció al movimiento realista. A lo largo de su carrera recibió las distinciones: "Caballero de la Orden Nacional de la Legión de Honor" (1888) y "Oficial de la Orden Nacional de la Legión de Honor" (1906).

Raffaëlli falleció el 11 de febrero de 1924 en París (Francia), a los 73 años.

We're already in June, and it seems like we were just yesterday embracing the New Year. I'm amazed at all the editions of this "Art and Writing" contest; and what pleases me most is that every day more users join to share their writing talents, based on works created by excellent visual artists.

For this 147th edition, I bring you as a guest the Frenchman with Italian origins, Jean-François Raffaëlli:

This distinguished artist was born on April 20, 1850 in Paris (France). He was a self-taught artist, even debuting at the Paris Salon in 1870 with some of his works, which were well received by art critics. Then, in 1871, he received art mentorship from the master Jean-Léon Gérome for three months.

Raffaëlli was not only a painter but also dedicated himself to sculpture and engraving. His works were realistic, reflecting the lives of peasants, housewives, and the working class living on the outskirts of Paris.

He belonged to the realist movement. Throughout his career, he received the distinctions: "Knight of the National Order of the Legion of Honor" (1888) and "Officer of the National Order of the Legion of Honor" (1906).

Raffaëlli died on February 11, 1924, in Paris, France, at the age of 73.

For this edition, we have selected the following works so you can choose the one you like best to write about: The Abstemious Drinkers (1880-1881), the second, At the Dentist (1878), and the third, Parisian Rag Collectors (1890).
