Hoy es lunes 28 de julio del año 2025, y celebramos la edición 154 de "Arte y Escritura" con el pintor Pável Fedótov:

Este distinguido artista plástico nació el 22 de junio de 1815, en Moscú (Federación Rusa).

Era hijo de un oficial retirado de las fuerzas militares de Moscú, lo cual, tal vez, influyó en él para que se formara en el Primer Cuerpo de Cadetes de Moscú.

Ejerció la carrera militar en la Guardia Imperial de San Petesburgo.

Asumió el arte pictórico como hobby, cuando aún era militar. En principio, dibujaba con lápiz y acuarela, pero luego realizaba sus obras en óleo.

Fue autodidacta en su formación como artista plástico. Se apasionó por la pintura, razón por la cual abandonó su carrera militar en el año 1844 para dedicarse por completo al arte. Sin embargo, su carrera fue muy corta, ya que en el año 1850 comenzó a tener problemas mentales, que ameritaron su reclusión en una clínica para pacientes psiquiátricos. Durante estos años, Pável no dejó de pintar.

En sus obras hay una narrativa cargada de sátira e ironía. Pero también, de sentimientos nostálgicos y de tristeza.

Pável falleció a los 37 años, el 14 de noviembre de 1852, en San Petesburgo, mientras estaba recluido en la clínica para pacientes con problemas mentales.

Today is Monday, July 28, 2025, and we celebrate the 154th edition of "Art and Writing" with the painter Pavel Fedotov:

This distinguished artist was born on June 22, 1815, in Moscow (Russian Federation).

He was the son of a retired officer in the Moscow military forces, which may have influenced him to train in the First Moscow Cadet Corps.

He pursued a military career in the Imperial Guard of St. Petersburg.

He took up painting as a hobby while still in the military. Initially, he drew with pencil and watercolor, but later completed his works in oils.

He was self-taught in his training as an artist. He developed a passion for painting, which is why he abandoned his military career in 1844 to dedicate himself entirely to art. However, his career was very short, as in 1850 he began to experience mental problems, which required his confinement in a psychiatric clinic. During these years, Pavel continued to paint.

His works contain a narrative charged with satire and irony, but also with nostalgic feelings and sadness.

Pavel died at the age of 37, on November 14, 1852, in Saint Petersburg, while confined to the clinic for patients with mental problems.

For this edition, we have selected the following works for you to choose the one you like best and write about it: Difficult Bride (1842), the second, Young Widow (1851), and the third, Cholera (1848).
