Peripherally related, and connected to the Dunning-Kruger Effect is my long term speculation that we will never (or "very rarely") have truly great and qualified politicians, because those who could truly change the world for the better go nowhere near the appropriate offices... so we end up with this group of buffoons who think they are awesome and yet do little to contribute to the actual betterment of the human condition....
