BBQ Feast and A Fun Night Out With Coworkers in Da Nang, Viet Nam!
After long weeks of hard work, our team decided to recharge by hanging out and having dinner. 10/10 voted for Korean BBQ. I‘d been starving for a while, and guess what? We found the best one in town.
From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us energetically with a cheerful “Annyeonghaseyo!” (it means hello in Korean), and showed us the table to settle into and place our orders.
While we looked at the menu, a wide variety of banchan (they are small side dishes served alongside the meat and rice) was brought out for us. We ordered plenty of meat, soup, steamed eggs, and of course, white rice.
The banchan they served were fresh onion, spring onion and bean sprout and some kind of green leaves that I didn’t know, but what impressed me most was their kimchi, it was perfectly balanced sweet, sour and not overly spicy.
To begin with, we had kimchi soup, soybean paste soup and banchan. It is optional if you want to add some raw garlic, green chili, and fresh seaweed leaves for the meal. Many of my coworkers can eat spicy chilli and can't eat raw garlic, but it's funny that I can eat raw garlic but not chilli.
We enjoyed the banchan and soup while eagerly waiting for the main food: pork belly and pork jowl. The staff even helped grill the meat to ensure the best quality of the meat.
Now look at the results!
We kept eating and ordering more because it was simply so delicious. The meat was so juicy and tender, with a good balance of lean meat and fat. Wrapped in seaweed leaves or lettuce, add some banchan and raw garlic, dipped into the flavorful ssamjang (soybean paste dipping sauce), each bite was out of this world! 😂
I didn’t expect the steamed eggs to be such a highlight, but it was so yummy, fluffy, and creamy, it melted in your mouth.
The last dish we had was kimchi fried rice with a heart shape. Also, so flavourful with white rice, kimchi, seaweed, and some cheese.
That was an amazing meal, and we finished it with delicious fresh mango ice cream.
We were all satisfied and happy with the meal. But that was not the end for the night. With our happy bellies and high energy, we decided to keep the good vibes going, so we went to karaoke after that! 😄🎤 😀
The karaoke place was very spacious with a fancy design. The sound and the goden light was good. I liked the way the machine gave points after everyone finished singing. We had a little game that anyone had lowest point need to dance whatever song the rest picked 😀
The night officially ends with so much fun and a lot of songs. We discovered many hidden singers and because some of my coworkers brought their children so we didn’t stay too long but I think it was fully completed for the night.
That’s it for my post today. Be treated with good food, chit chat, sharing, and singing. Everything feels so happy and enjoyable. Hope you have a good weekend too! Send love from Viet Nam!
