I admire your charitable efforts, but ...
I've been going to this place for years so I thought it was okay. However, I went home with pounding head. In the evening I was having fever. I had to pump up with meds to be able to get up for church the following day
Places like that are health hazards and children, are especially carriers of germs, bacterias and viruses in any environments. That's why children going to nurseries or kindergarten or even in neighborhoods with many young children are always sick in turn.
I thought I should be used to the place already because I've been going there several times. I guess my immune system dropped that time.
In terms of health and sanitation, the place looks scary. But people get by. I actually bow to their fortitude in such state...
You build up your immunity when exposed to an unclean environment but it will wear off quickly.
People who live there have much higher levels of immunity and can be carriers of many pathogens and still look healthy. They will make you sick even when they don't seem sick.
The place is probably loaded with pathogens including the air that you breathe.
I guess you're right. It has been more than a year from the previous time when I went there. My immunity to the place may have reset.
