Yet another #walkwithme to Buck Hollow with a good friend!
As you may know, the weather was amazing this past week and something that must be taken advantage of! So I have been doing a lot of hikes and walks to get out of the house and into nature! This time a good friend of mine took Rhythm and I to Buck Hollow, not even a mile from my house. This is a canoe/swim spot on the river that is next to the bridge on the highway. Although you can go under the bridge, we went the other way where people put in and take out their canoes in the summer, and where a ton of people can be found in the hot days of summer.

Think safety on the river!
We took the dogs around and Rhythm was checking it all out for the first time! And of course she loved it! In fact she kept wanting to get in the water, but mom said no... Haha! Although it was a nice day, it was still cool enough that I didn't want a soaking wet dog on my lap! She just loved running up on rocks and fallen trees, digging in the rocks, and of course playing with her new friend, Freya. I'm pretty sure come this summer, Rhythm will be a river rat just like us!
This part of the river changed dramatically after the flood last year, even though the evidence is everywhere up and down the river, this part is almost completely different than before. Huge rocks that kids used to jump off are down river, rocky banks that were left from the racing waters, and of course the many, many trees that were up rooted and deposited everywhere... But there is still a beautiful feeling that you get from the river, and that is most definitely still there. You can see in the top left picture, a huge pile of wood waiting to be cleaned up by the park department. And that's only a small fraction that they will clean up. We haven't had much precipitation in the past few months and you can tell from the muck and slime floating in the water near the bank. Plus the leaves that fall into the river help to clutter it up as well.
We didn't stay as long as we normally do because it was a bit cool and cloudy, and sitting on cold rocks with a cool wind hitting you can get a little chilly. Plus I had to rush home and clean the kitchen for our family dinner later that night, but it was a great day. There is just something revitalizing about breathing in the cool river air and hearing the sound of the water flowing and splashing along with the wind going through the trees. Plus time with a good friend is therapy in itself! My head seems to clear when I'm at the river and I have amazing revelations about life... Like "Oh shit I'm late!?!?" or "Do I really have to leave?" Haha! But really, I do seem to get some sort of reboot or refresh just from the river, and I love it!
I hope you have enjoyed the pictures of our beautiful little part of this Earth! And I'd love to see the places you love!
Thanks for looking and hope to see you again soon! Ask me how to join the Steemit Local Music Society on Discord!

I want to visit the river again but I'm afraid I'll just fill my pockets full of rocks I don't have time or materials to tumble! Ahh!!! The downside of being a rockhound.
Right!?!? I had to refrain from taking any as well since I already have a huge pile that I don't know what to do with... Drystan is horrible at wanting every single rock he picks up as well. Haha!
My kids bring them to me as if I'm expected to keep it.
