I used ImageMagick - found a tutorial at http://www.imagemagick.org/Usage/anim_basics/ ... I don't have access to my laptop at the moment, but I believe the command I ran was something like

convert --dispose previous --delay 50 --loop 0 --resize 800x600 *.jpg animation.gif
