A Marbled Godwit. A common migrant on most of the west U.S. coast. You can tell it's a godwit by the long bi-colored slightly upturned bill and that it's a Marbled Godwit (not the uncommon other possibilitlies Hudsonian Godwit or Bar-tailed Godwit by its overall warm brown coloration. If you can see the tail and wing it is even easier to ID to species, but godwits as a genus are easy by their large size and long two-toned bill. Nice photo.
