If you have never heard of religion you wouldn’t believe or accept it now. Do you remember the Heaven’s Gate suicides (some people call it murder)? The profit convinced his followers that their souls would be absorbed by the passing comet upon their deaths. So they all killed themselves.
Sounds ridiculous right? That’s when I realized that if I had not been brought up in the Christian faith the idea of ascending to a place called heaven upon death would sound just as weird. Indeed – according to Christian history, suicide was made a sin because there were Christian cults killing themselves to get to heaven.
