Aceh High Prosecutor's Office Combats Stunting in Bireuen, Targets Reducing National Figures.
The Aceh High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has reaffirmed its commitment to efforts to reduce stunting rates through the Adhyaksa Peduli Stunting program. The program, which has been running since last year and has proven effective in reducing stunting rates in Aceh, will continue to be intensified.
This was conveyed by the Head of the Aceh High Prosecutor's Office, Yudi Triadi, S.H., M.H., during a working visit to Bireuen Regency, Friday (4/7/2025). Together with the Bireuen Forkopimda, the Aceh High Prosecutor handed over nutritional improvement packages for pregnant women and toddlers at the Jangka District Field, Bireuen.
Yudi Triadi emphasized that the role of the Prosecutor's Office is not only in legal action, but also prevention, through a legal approach and collaboration. He called the Prosecutor's Office a partner of the regional government in development, supporting the vision and mission of regional development together with the Forkopimda.
Appreciation was conveyed to the Regent of Bireuen, the local government, the committee, and CSR partners such as Bank Aceh, Bank Syariah Indonesia, PT PLN, PTPN IV, PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda, and Pertamina for supporting this program.
Data from the Ministry of Health shows that one in three toddlers in Indonesia experiences stunting. Aceh, which in 2022 was ranked 4th nationally with a stunting rate of 32%, has now dropped to 22%. However, Yudi Triadi reminded that stunting is a long-term national challenge.
The stunting reduction acceleration program, part of the National Action Plan (Presidential Regulation No. 72/2021) and Aceh Governor Regulation No. 14/2019, has been the focus of the Aceh High Prosecutor's Office since 2022. The main targets are children aged 6-24 months who experience stunting and pregnant women with KEK.
The Bireuen District Attorney's Office, through the Datun division, will assist in optimizing Village Funds for the stunting prevention program. The involvement of village officials, health centers, health workers, PKK cadres, and other stakeholders in managing nutrition houses and strengthening Posyandu is very important.
Monitoring child growth and development over the next six months requires cross-sector coordination. Yudi Triadi hopes that the tagline "Ready to Intervene, Ready to Fix" will be realized in real action for a healthy and intelligent generation of Aceh.
The Regent of Bireuen welcomed the visit, highlighting the problem of double nutrition in toddlers: malnutrition, overnutrition, and micronutrient deficiencies. He emphasized the importance of vigilance against new cases of stunting, although the number of stunting, wasting, and underweight in Bireuen has decreased. The wasting and underweight figures are still above the Ministry of Health's target.
The Regent also reminded of the risk of death in children with severe wasting and the reciprocal relationship between stunting and wasting. Handling stunting requires the involvement of all parties, including improving nutrition through additional food for toddlers and pregnant women.
The Adhyaksa Cares for Stunting Program in Bireuen, which will take place from July to December 2025, targets BADUTA and pregnant women in the KEK.
The Regent hopes that the synergy of all parties can solve the problem of double malnutrition and achieve the national stunting reduction target (18.80% in 2025 and 14% in 2029). Bireuen Regency is optimistic that it can overcome stunting for a healthier next generation.
