Western wildfires - Preacher Fire
Our normally quiet rural community has, over the past two days, gotten used to the sound of planes headed for Topaz Lake on the Nevada-California border. The small air tankers are picking up water to disperse on the Preacher Fire which started early yesterday morning by a lightening strike. The video, taken by Byron Curtis, shows an Aero-Flite CL-415 scooper at Topaz Lake.

Our house is about halfway between the fire and the lake where the tankers are loading up with water.
