Vote for My Witness: Why I Want to Be a Block Producer on Steemit
Dear Steemit Community,
I’m excited to reach out to you today to ask for your support in voting for me as a Steemit Witness. My goal is to contribute to the security and growth of the STEEM blockchain while showcasing my value as a dedicated developer and community member. Below, I outline my motivations, technical setup, and contributions to demonstrate why I’m an asset to this ecosystem.
My Background and Contributions
I introduced myself to the Steemit community about two months ago and have been actively coding on the STEEM blockchain for some time. I’ve submitted multiple pull requests to the official Steem repositories, and many of you may already be familiar with my work. My contributions include:
- Open-Source Steem Wallet: I developed a new, open-source version of the Steem Wallet, available at https://github.com/blazeapps007/steemWallet.
- BlazeDB Block Explorer: I built an independent block explorer with a robust backend, live at https://blazescanner.org/ and open-sourced at https://github.com/blazeapps007/BlazeDB.
- Personal Website: Learn more about my projects and contributions at https://blazeapps.org/.
As a developer with extensive experience in TypeScript, Python, React, and Node.js, as well as contributions to the STEEM blockchain and various EVM-based blockchains, I’m passionate about open-source development and community-driven projects.
My Motivation to Become a Witness
My primary motivation for becoming a Steemit Witness is to actively participate in securing the blockchain I’ve been contributing to. By running a reliable and secure node, I aim to strengthen the network’s infrastructure while continuing to develop tools that benefit the community. I’m committed to leveraging my technical expertise to enhance the Steemit ecosystem and support its growth.
Technical Setup
My witness node runs on a high-performance server hosted at OVH data centers in Canada, ensuring reliability and low latency. The server specifications are:
- Storage: 2×960 GB SSD NVMe + 6×1.92 TB SSD NVMe
- Memory: 256 GB ECC 4800 MHz
- Processor: AMD EPYC GENOA 9124 - 16c/32t - 3 GHz/3.6 GHz
Node Details
- API Node: https://steemd.blazeapps.org
- Seed Node Address: 51.38.76.129:2001
To ensure security and redundancy, I’ve implemented multiple failover IP addresses through OVH and use OpnSense as an external firewall to protect my virtual machines from external threats.
Why I’m an Asset to Steemit
- Proven Contributions: My pull requests to the Steem codebase and open-source projects like the Steem Wallet and BlazeDB demonstrate my commitment to improving the ecosystem.
- Technical Expertise: With strong skills in TypeScript, Python, React, and Node.js, I’m well-equipped to develop innovative tools and maintain robust infrastructure.
- Community Focus: I’m dedicated to collaborating with the Steemit community, always open to discussions, and ready to assist with technical or development needs.
