Balance is difficult to understand.

Balance is something many strive to find, and people risk their lives for it, as, for example, tightrope walkers do, who are willing to risk their lives for the show, to entertain the crowds, and for a little money.

Or, alternatively, people are willing to risk the lives of others to achieve balance, as in the case you see in these photographs, because it's unclear whether a steel clamp will be able to hold a split reinforced concrete pole upright, or for how long.

Usually, such risky endeavors are undertaken by educated people who, by all appearances, have earned a diploma, but haven't learned to count, because without further calculations, and knowing the cost of installing a new pole, connecting it, and the cost of the pole itself, including transportation, I wouldn't be mistaken in saying that a clamp costs more.

But some might say it's temporary, but I know a popular saying in our area: Nothing is more permanent than temporary.

There's no arguing with that, especially if someone thought it was the perfect balance between safety and profitability.

The difficulty of finding balance can be tragic and can be comical, but no less challenging.

For example, if you want to cover a carrot bed with mulch to achieve biobalance in the bed, you might end up discovering, when harvesting, that your carrots have been successfully eaten by mice, who were living very comfortably under the mulch.

Therefore, finding the optimal mulch layer thickness is a very complex experiment that can rob you of more than one gardening season.

You know, it's interesting that we often don't think about or admire the very complex balance we've been given as a gift, but thanks to it, we can walk upright.
