Beyond Logic - Cimbex femoratus or Birch Sawfly.
Sometimes, to trust logic, you need to be a very versatile specialist in various fields of science, otherwise, logic can fail, as in this case.
When I saw a rather large, strange-looking caterpillar, the first thing logic told me was that it was a developmental stage of some butterfly unknown to me. Live tropical butterfly exhibits periodically come to our city, and the likelihood that one of them could have escaped was high.
But no, as it turns out, this caterpillar has nothing in common with butterflies. Rather, when it matures into an adult, it will look more like a wasp, or, more accurately, a Cimbex femoratus or a Birch Sawfly.
