Hidden intentions.
Hidden intentions.
Most misunderstandings in our lives arise because our intentions, or the intentions of our interlocutor, were not properly understood.
Whether you shout your intentions loudly or keep them secret is irrelevant; some factor can still arise that hinders understanding on both sides, and it could be anything.
In nature, this is what many generations of people have prepared us for, through trial, error, and learning about our world.
I'm amazed at how people were able to learn all the existing information about edible and poisonous plants and mushrooms. Such experiments are very dangerous, and I'm inclined to think that people didn't learn anything new, but rather received their information from Adam, to whom God gave an understanding of the nature of animals and plants. Otherwise, the Great Flood wouldn't have caught people off guard. They would have simply ended up like the tasters of Brutus's gifts to Julius Caesar in the French comedy about the mighty Gauls.
It's good that various reference books and encyclopedias have been compiled based on this knowledge, but they're not always at hand, and sometimes the intentions of plants, like what you see in the photograph, aren't always clear.
There are two possibilities: the sap is secreted as a protective response to external influences, or, conversely, upon realizing I'm nearby, the plant is inviting me to intensify the external influence, for example, so that detached stem parts can reach the soil and germinate.
These are just guesses about intentions, and it's not a given that either of them is true.
