Since ancient times, people have been infected with a virus called condemnation, they simply need to condemn someone and, for this, they invent all sorts of rules, because if there are no rules, then there will be no one to condemn.
So, probably, there are all sorts of rules of races beyond which it is impossible to go, otherwise, you will be disqualified.
In nature, races are observed everywhere in the plant world and in the animal world, the race for the sun and the race for food, but, at the same time, there are no rules and no condemnation.
Although, a person can also get involved in this race, for example, by feeding a cat, or cutting down trees to give more light to herbaceous plants, but whether this is useful is highly questionable.
