In the center of the square is the monument to Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, the Spanish writer famous for his work "Don Quixote"
The monument is made of a stone monolith with several statues, such as the two main female characters from the novel, Dulcinea and Aldonza. The five continents are also depicted, symbolizing the universality of Cervantes' work.
The statue of the Bear and the Strawberry Tree is an iconic symbol located in the Puerta del Sol square in the city center.

Further on I saw paintings with scenes from Spanish culture and flamenco dancers and bullfighters.

Finally, my day ended in front of the monument to Pedro Calderón de la Barca, a prominent Spanish playwright and poet from the Golden Age, located in the Plaza de Santa Ana.
