NIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST | CAPTURING THE NIGHT | WEEK 25
The Night Sky and My Temporary Peace
The night sky is an ever-changing scene, with the moving clouds - or is it the moon playing hide-and-seek with us earthlings?
Moon watching, especially after midnight, can be so soothing, like a reliever for the soul after a hard day's work of walking on tightrope and fulfilling duties.
It's a pause button, a temporary detachment from everything else, such precious moment of peace.
Probably the time when artist, poets, writers, and songwriters found their inspiration, all under the moon.
Creative moments are sparked, and masterpieces are born. Maybe if I could flip my schedule, where my day became my night and my night became my day, then I might be able to create my masterpiece too
Right now, I'm just going to enjoy this moment with the distant hum of passing cars as white noise.
There's a briefest moment in this when I can pretend things are fine, tossing melancholy aside as if I were never tainted by unhappiness.
I can grab a beer, smile, chill, and simply enjoy the moment.
Play pretend that I'm looking at the world from my safe haven, where nonsense can't touch me, much like our childhood games of make-believe.
But no matter how quiet it can be now, it can never be the same as during the lockdown. Does anyone else remember how it felt during that time?
That kind of stillness, that profound quietness.
We all are living in different environments and situations, of course.
Mine is always surrounded by a concrete forest, and I was living like a recluse at that time, one can say that I really enjoyed the temporary peace where I have one less issue to worry about, my social anxiety.
As I sit here, pondering so many different things, surrounded by the night view, I wonder if, among the hundreds of balconies visible from mine, there is also someone out there, pondering about life while taking a breather in this quiet moment under the same sky.
Good night, all. I hope this pretend peace can extend into my dreams, chasing away the nightmares.
