Arsenal 0-1 Paris Saint Germain

This was the first round of this semifinal play off, held at Emirates Stadium in London. PSG came out looking like they were the locals and before 4 minutes were up they had already scored their goal. A center from the left wing which Dembele kicked right into a corner even skimming the post. Also a goal I would completely blame the Arsenal defense for. You know you don't let an attacker just kick a ball at his will. Somebody should have done something. Because a good attacker can get off a pretty good kick from there so I think defenders looking for that sort of thing an obvious thing to do.

And PSG kept on pushing after this goal, they had the ball and all the chances. Things did not start changing for Arsenal until around the 30th minute. From this moment on Arsenal controlled the ball and became the more dangerous team. In spite of that nothing actually happened before the referee finished the first half.

The second half was, in my view mostly Arsenal having the ball and PSG defending. Donnarumma saved a few shots and Arsenal blew away a couple of others. Arsenal had a goal disallowed for an offside. I am not really completely satisfied with this offside, but VAR called it and they do have the better view of how the goal play developed so I guess my point of view is probably wrong. After this the game was nearing its end, Arsenal grew more nervous and PSG was the team that missed two clear goals. Over all I think the score is fair, PSG were the better side.

Now we have the next game in Paris, I would bet on PSG going through, not because of a 1-0 lead, but because I think this is going to be their year. For a long time, and with more renowned players they have failed to leave their mark. This time with less fan fare they are probably going to reach the final. Even the referees are treating them good this season, I remember a couple of times they have been destroyed by wrong decisions. I must say of the four teams involved, I don't actually like any, but things being even I really prefer PSG or Arsenal winning the UEFA CL, just because they never have done it.
