The most famous church in my city. / La iglesia más famosa de mi ciudad. - Playing Photographer # 6

This is the most famous Catholic church in my city, Maracaibo. The Basilica of Our Lady of Chiquinquirá. I stopped by and saw people entering. Since it's almost always closed to the public, I took advantage and took some photos for the "Playing Photographer" challenge.

Very few churches have painted raised ceilings, but this one has a great painting. The stained-glass windows are also worth a look.

For parishioners, this is their most important church. In November, it's filled with people from all over who come to see the Virgin's descent; the 18th of that month is its anniversary.

Esta es la iglesia católica mas famosa de mi ciudad Maracaibo, La Basílica de Nuestra Señora de Chiquinquirá. Me pase por allí y vi que la gente entraba y como casi siempre está cerrada al público aproveche y tomé algunas fotos para el reto de ¨Jugando a ser fotógrafo¨.

Muy pocas iglesias tienen sus techos pintados en relieve y esta tiene una gran pintura, los vitrales también son dignos de mirar.

Para los feligreses esta es su mejor iglesia. En el mes de Noviembre se llena de gente de todas partes que vienen a ver la bajada de la virgen, el 18 de ese mes es su aniversario.
