Have you seen the aurora yourself?

in WORLD OF XPILAR3 years ago

The aurora borealis, also called Northern lights in the Northern hemisphere and aurora australis in the Southern hemisphere are a unique phenomenon that occurs thanks to the solar wind. Particles coming from the Sun are directed by the Earth's magnetic field towards the magnetic North and South poles. The particles give off some of their high energy to molecules in the upper atmosphere, which gets re-emitted in the form of light. In addition to the typical green, there is also red and blue, though they are much rarer.
