The German Church in the Saratov Region
Here is a real abandoned building... An abandoned architectural and historical landmark is the German church in the village of Lipovka, Saratov Region.
It looks Gothic! This church was built in 1906.
The church building was constructed in several architectural styles: Neo-Gothic, Neo-Baroque, Neo-Renaissance, and Neo-Byzantine. It was one of the largest churches built at that time, accommodating up to a thousand parishioners.
In 1935, the church was closed, but it was not destroyed. Even the bell was preserved! Of course, this historical site is in the process of destruction... As an atmospheric location for photos, it attracts a lot of people. Now I'm interested in learning about the Volga Germans who came to Russia after Catherine II's manifesto. The place is really atmospheric.
Wow, what a wonderful place!!! I can't imagine how exciting it was to enter here when this building was first conceived. The stairs are wonderful.
