AN 8 or 9 YEAR LONG JOURNEY FINALLY PAYS OFF

in WORLD OF XPILAR3 days ago

This was seriously worth the wait!

When I heard that I could grow these here, I got excited. Personally, where we live in the Ozarks is most likely just out of where the more common, larger fuzzy brown on the outside / green on the inside kiwis can be grown, but a smaller, green, furless variety can grow, and now we can verify it firsthand. The "kiwiberry" AKA Cold-Hardy Kiwi is a plant that I must have planted back in 2017 or 2018. I've heard that it can take seven or eight years for them to produce, and true to form, that's what happened here. But, now that I can verify that they do well here, I can now say that in my opinion, they are the best kiwi to grow in the Ozarks, and beyond!

The BEST KIWI For the OZARKS and BEYOND!!! - ORIGINAL VIDEO

Want to grow Kiwis, but you live further north than zone 7? Here in the Ozarks, we found the perfect kiwi for our homestead. These furless, cold hardy kiwiberries can even be cold hardy to zones 3 or 4. In this video, I show off some of our harvest this year, and we enjoy these amazingly delicious little kiwis! In the video above, I show off our trellis, our harvest, and the reactions of Mama-Pepper and some of the @Little-Peppers as they enjoy a few of these.

For those who don't know, there are actually many kinds of kiwis out there. The big fuzzy brown ones with green insides are most common here in the USA because they are highly commercialized, and now the yellow fleshed variation has also been showing up at the grocery stores. We've even seen the little Kiwiberries that we are now growing at the store too, although it was only for a short span several years ago, but we did see them in the produce section.

HOW TO PROPERLY SHAVE A KIWI FRUIT

If you have known me for a while, you may recall that even upon my arrival on the blockchain I struggled with eating the fur on the common, furry kiwis. These kiwi berries that we now grow have no fur, so I don't even have to shave them first. If you would like to attempt to enjoy my version of some deadpan humor, then check the "How to Properly Shave a Kiwi" video above.

This final video I'll share here shows how the trellis looked years ago, when I dropped a tree on it. It wasn't my intention, but life doesn't always go according to planned.

Anyway, do you like Kiwis? What kinds are available in your area? Have you ever grown any? Have you ever tried the small, hairless kiwi berries? Let us know below, and enjoy the videos if you can. Be blessed y'all, Papa Out!

Until next time…
