This is probably my third time participating in the Playing Photographer contest.
Sometimes I just didn’t manage to take the right photo in time for the theme.

This time the contest is about cookies.

I once made a post about Oreo cookies, for World Oreo Day. I didn’t even know Oreo was such a global brand at the time — I thought it was either a local product made for export or something imported from Europe.

But now I don’t have any Oreos at home, and using old photos doesn’t feel right...
I also don’t have any crackers at the moment — which I enjoy with coffee — although they wouldn’t look as nice in photos as bubliki!

Luckily, I did have some bubliki at home — so I decided to photograph them instead.
I believe any kind of cookie or biscuit is allowed in the context of this contest.
There are bubliki that are soft like buns, almost like bread, but these ones are hard and crunchy — more like a cookie or biscuit.

Here in Ukraine, bubliki like these usually come in two varieties — topped with poppy seeds or sesame seeds. I suppose there might be plain ones too, but I haven’t seen any in a long time.

The photos were taken with a Canon 650D camera and an EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM lens. I bought the camera without a lens, and this one I got later. I still don’t have a telephoto lens.
This particular lens has a fixed focal length — it’s not a macro lens, but it’s great for close-up shots.
