Holding On to What Still Heals...
Engagement and communication have taken a back seat lately. I just haven’t been feeling quite myself.
First, the rising tensions and conflict in South Asia. My beloved country was under the threat of war, a conflict that spanned four days and left us still dealing with its aftermath. And now, another devastating war — an aggressive attack launched by an entity disrupting peace in the Middle East, repeating naked aggression, only now multiplied many times over. A sad, sad situation!
I find myself stuck in a loop, constantly watching the news, unable to look away.
To break away from this endless heaviness, I hosted a small tea party at home.
A much-needed distraction.
Everything was homemade.
Even this moment of peace feels like a luxury these days—
Inviting friends over,
Sharing conversations,
Without the fear of a bomb going off.
What has life become?
What crossroads has the world arrived at...
Hovering on the brink of destruction.
Why has a single moment of peace become so rare…?
You truly can’t understand all of this,
not until such devastation passes over you personally.
This peace you take for granted,
sitting comfortably in front of the TV,
scrolling on your phone while having breakfast,
dropping your kids to school and picking them up,
stepping out for an evening walk just because you feel like it...
Believe me, all of this is a huge blessing.
We scroll past the headlines, switch off the news, and return to our routines, but somewhere, someone’s entire world is burning. If we’re still able to host a gathering, hear laughter in our homes, and sleep without fear, we owe it to ourselves not to take this peace for granted.
Let’s hold space for gratitude.
Let’s hold space for those who can’t.
Nobody can take your inner peace away from you - except yourself. So take good care of it! A little tea party and a little fakir are a very good start.
