This is the Risk of Buying a Damaged Motorcycle, Almost Losing Your Life
This is the Risk of Buying a Damaged Motorcycle, Almost Losing Your Life
On this occasion, I just want to share that choosing between two motorcycles depends on one's ability, and as a result, we often experience undesirable outcomes, such as my experience: "This is the Risk of Buying a Damaged Motorcycle, Almost Losing Your Life." Although individual capabilities can vary, for example:
- Having a lot of money, but not enough to buy a new one
- Buying a new one, but with a large family's daily and monthly needs
- Shortcut to installment plan: Small down payment, large monthly installments
- Shortcut to installment plan: Large down payment, uncertain daily income to cover installments.
- Borrowing money from a loan shark can be difficult to repay.
- Choosing a used motorcycle: Low price, high risk.
Among the options I've written above, perhaps some of my Steemit friends have experienced this in the real world. Therefore, I personally chose a used motorcycle to ride in the real world. This is my current ability, and I don't want to compare myself to others' wealth. For now, I'm just trying to do the best I can.
I'm sharing this experience only in the hope that it's a message to my friends to inspect the motorcycle before making a purchase.
The repairs began
The repairs actually began in this post Feet and Head Separated, and the repair shop has already informed us that this part has started to wobble.
Since I didn't have a lot of money to cover the damage, I simply had the mechanic tie it up to make it tighter and prevent it from wobbling as much. After all that was done, the damage to the front shock absorber caused everything to fall apart.
The damaged road, leading to my Steam house, to the garden, and then to town, caused the front suspension to leak and eventually stall. However, after I made repairs by purchasing new shock absorbers, the neck of the motorcycle, without me realizing it, came loose while I was going through a bend with an obstacle in the middle of the road. The term "sleeping policeman" is often used, or in other countries, it's often called a "speed bump." Because I had already repaired the front shock absorber, the spring swing caused a height that I wasn't even aware of at the time. The front tire was no longer aligned, and "Boooooo!" It all happened so quickly. Due to the weight of the falling motorcycle, only my right arm suffered a slight sprain. It's currently undergoing minor treatment.
Not Working Properly.
I was indeed helped by the residents, because they recognized me, as the main actor in the real world, in the activity of creating an educational place for AL-Qariah children with Steem and SBD. After everything was transported to the workshop, the workshop re-inserted all the parts of the front of the motorbike, and apparently, one of the three fasteners for the neck of the motorbike's handlebar, was not fastened properly, because it was rusty, and the other parts were no longer functioning properly.
Reassembling the front of the motorcycle
Whatever you say, everything was already damaged, and everything needed to be repaired and replaced. My situation at the time was such that I could only think about being okay, even though I was almost dead. I begged the repair shop owner to have the motorcycle repaired immediately, as I didn't have another motorcycle. Thanks to the owner's humility, the motorcycle was repaired and ready in two days. Although the next day, I had to ride with my children on their motorcycle while they went to school, so as not to disturb their activities, I also chose to stay home and hope my daughter would take me to the coffee shop while she delivered packages to online customers.
In this final section, this motorcycle mechanic, made and installed new round iron beads or new motorcycle neck lava, all done with full consideration, so that the same thing doesn't happen to me again.
After the repairs were done for half a day, I went straight home and didn't do any further monitoring, because my body was in pain when I fell. I had to come back in 3 days.
That's all I can say. I hope this is helpful. Finally, I hope and advise that if you're considering buying a used motorcycle, please pay close attention before purchasing. If necessary, bring a friend who specializes in motorcycles to inspect it before purchasing. This is just to be sure, before buying. However, we can't avoid bad things happening. Even if the motorcycle is nice and new, if you ride it in a pothole, it's also your own negligence.
I conclude.
I'll end here. Best regards

Goodness...! It's good that nothing worse happened to you. Hopefully the bike is really safe now... I always buy second-hand too, but I make sure it's been technically checked and is in top condition. Maybe a compulsory MOT, like we have in Germany, would be a good idea after all? In any case, get well soon!
