My Experience Between Hive, Steemit, and Blurt.blog Platforms

Recently I became interested in platforms that combine blogging and cryptocurrencies, for one reason only: because I lost $10,000 in trading a month and a half ago, so I decided to return to blogging, maybe I can recover what I lost.

I had a sports car of the type Cupra, I sold it and used its price in trading, but because of excessive greed I lost all the money in Alpha trades on the Gate.io platform.
That was the worst thing that happened to me in my life, but it’s okay, with a little support from you I will recover some of my money, and I really hope so.

Let’s continue...
I have used the Steemit platform since 2019, but I was not publishing regularly because I didn’t have enough time. I was working hard to buy a sports car.
I was working in a company for making bicycles, and after I returned home, I was trading. I was spending most of my time between work and trading.
I tried blogging on Steemit, then later moved to Hive, and that was the worst experience I ever had.

🔹The Beginning with Steemit

Steemit was the first platform I entered.
Its idea was new at that time: you write a post, and it gets votes from users, and if they like it you earn a digital currency called STEEM.
I liked the experience a lot at first, but over time I noticed that some decisions in the platform became more centralized, especially after the acquisition by Justin Sun (the founder of TRON) of the owning company.
Then the community began to divide, and the trust decreased that the system is fully decentralized.
And users started voting only for people who have big voting power, meaning that voting was no longer measured by the quality of the post, but by the voting power of the post’s owner.
For this reason, I started looking for other platforms, until I found the Hive platform.

🔹Moving to Hive

After the events that happened in Steemit, I decided to try Hive, which is basically a fork of the Steem network, but it focuses more on decentralization and community management.
From the first day, I noticed that the atmosphere was different:

The community is cooperative and interactive.

The voting process is more fair.

The updates are decided by the users themselves, not by a central authority.

Voting in Hive depends on what is called Hive Power (HP), meaning that the effect of your vote is related to the number of tokens you own, but the system maintains a good balance in distributing rewards among bloggers.

I started blogging there and publishing my drawings, and that was about three years ago.
I worked there for some time, then the situation started to get worse, because some users were voting randomly and forming groups voting only for each other.
And if one of them didn’t like a post, you find all his friends voting against it.

Personally, I was suffering from this matter. My blog posts were getting good attention, then suddenly the situation turned, and no one was voting for my posts anymore.
So I stopped publishing for three years, until 2025 when I decided to return.
But when I came back, I found that the Hive platform had not changed much:
There is still random downvoting, and if you don’t get a downvote, your post won’t get many likes except from the few who appreciate real content.

So I decided to close the account permanently and deleted all my old drawings.
And thus, I began to notice that this platform is losing many of its users day by day, even the price of the HIVE currency dropped significantly this year alone, from $0.7 to $0.0327, and currently the price is around $0.13.
And I don’t think it will last long before it returns to around $0.03, because Hive has lost its credibility compared to Steemit.

After I closed my account on Hive, I found a new platform called Blurt.blog, and I decided to try it as well.

🔹The Blurt.blog Experience

Blurt.blog was the last platform I tried.
Its interface is simple and easy to use, but honestly I did not feel that the community there is strong like Steemit.
There are not many users, and I found that the posts that get good interaction and many positive votes are only the posts of the administrators.

But what I liked is that Blurt.blog focuses on freedom of publishing and reducing restrictions, and this is a good thing because it reduces user groupings that have high voting power as in Hive.

After I used the platform for a month, I noticed that posts do not get big support like in Steemit or Hive.
There are posts on Steemit that get more than $300, while high-quality posts on Blurt.blog barely get $3 only, and this is sad.

I don’t know why, but I saw users who have big voting power, and yet they vote with small amounts like 100 Blurt or 360 Blurt.
And this is the highest vote I saw on Blurt.blog, and 360 Blurt equals about $0.7 only!
And this is very strange. I don’t know if the reason is the low currency price, which is currently around $0.002, or if there is another reason.

The market value of the currency is very low, it is around $1,125,338 only, and this is very little compared to Hive and Steemit.

🔹The Summary of My Experience

After all these experiences, I can say that the Blurt.blog platform is the best among the three currently,
as it combines true decentralization, a simple community, and a fair system in distributing rewards,
but it has only one flaw: the voting power is very low.

As for Steemit, it is suitable for those who want to join an old and partially stable community, but it no longer has the same vitality as before.

As for Hive, it is now one of the worst platforms in my opinion, and I do not recommend anyone to use it.

Tools Used in Drawing

Stage One: I used a pencil to draw the initial lines and outline the character's features.

Stage Two: I relied on Picsart Pro to change the background and add the basic coloring.

Stage Three: I used upscale.media to improve the final image quality and make it clearer and more precise.
