The Gold Story Contest: Gold Rush
Hello my dear Steemians,
Today I wanted to write my thoughts for this interesting contest running by @musa-gold if you want to learn more here is the link:
Gold, everybody knows what is gold and we all know that it is a precious metal that make the life easy. When I hear gold or gold rush, that is always associates with something negative, why?
- Gold rush or gold digger in Australia...
There is a documentary about gold diggers in Australia, where people buy land and they are allowed to search for gold, it is interesting to see how people get changed and it often reminds me old fairy tales, when people were normal initially cared about people around them, their family but once they found some gold that allowed them to cover the needs and the person get addicted with search for gold.
So back to documentary, there are few types of people who are searching for gold:
the ones who do with simple metal detector, find gold nugget and happy, they go back to their life and maybe will do the same in a year or two
the other ones, who found the same amount of gold sold it got 20-50K of dollar but instead of enjoying the life, they spent it and bought bigger machines, rented more land and started digging in a big scale. Of course, then expenses much bigger, because they also hired someone else as it is not possible to do that by yourself only. So the partner needs to be paid, the land renting needs to be paid and also for machines, sometimes if it is rented then also needs to be paid.
When I see those people, they are already over 50y.o living in relative poor condition but still dreaming about a luck of finding much of gold.
I do not like how it is going on in Australia, when I saw the documentary and how the land is completely turned upside down, there is no vegetation but red soil, like on Mars. It is not looking healthy for nature and definitely not for the health of those people.
Gold can motivate and inspire but it can destroy because of greed and addiction.
- What is we had too much of gold?…
I often think what would happen if there will be too much gold affordable for everyone? If there is too much gold around then the value of it will be falling down. The same situation could happen in time of war when people will better have bread or water instead of gold. From the stories of my grandmother I remember that they were exchanging their jewellery for food in order to save their children from hunger.
At the moment still there is not much gold around that is why it is one of the stable precious metal, that is stable in its value and we all dream of the little luck to get some gold, that could make our life easier.

You're thinking like a reasonable person. But not everyone who finds gold can keep their minds...
apparently it depends on the level of a person's culture, but I could be wrong.

All human are the same, they have same emotions, feeling and often they are predictable, still we all have often different reaction some can still behave as correct person but some can become really selfish and do not care about anything that happening around. I do not know if such case of suddenly becoming reach will change me .🤔 Temptation, temptation 😉

As for the brain, emotions, behavior, and more... I would not say that everyone is the same, just in the difference between the psychology of people (first of all) and the difference of everything else.🖐 😊

A very interesting perspective. Many people get carried away by hope, abandoning objectivity. The glitter of gold can shed light on our path, making our lives more comfortable. But it can also deceive us with its radiance, causing us to lose our vision and be unable to see our mistakes by following it.

Yes, agree often they tell that they get some wealth but then will return to their family, life and will be again normal people. Some people manage to get through but some not. It was a pleasure to take part in the contest :)
Gold prospecting is always a lottery, without investing money you won't be able to start searching, and what the desired result will be... is unknown :)

Hi Wuddi, what you point out about the value of gold is very interesting. It's expensive because it's scarce, but there are certainly times when bread and water are more valuable than any jewel. That's what my father used to say: the price of things depends on how much we need them.

Often, human beings, out of sheer ambition, are capable of causing harm that ultimately affects the entire world, especially when this desire for more and more causes damage to nature.
Just over a century ago, a mentality of accumulating wealth that never existed before in history took hold, and since then, the damage to the world has been evident. Let's hope that ambition no longer prevails and that, in some way, we become more conscious of caring for the planet.

That are very wise words, that we all have to repeatedly tell ourselves. We often forget about that when there is a lucky moment of getting more wealth. Have you also noticed that often people say that often everything has to be changed globally and him/her input or input of a single person is so small and will not be visible, that is an excuse that often people have to not getting changed.
